CARDS, a project within the Berlin University Alliance (BUA), cordially invites to an Open Data Seminar for researchers of the BUA (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin)! The seminar is held by Berlin Institute of Health of Charité.
The three-hour seminar provides an overview of making data freely available (open data) and its subsequent use. It consists of both lectures and practical exercises in the group and at tthe PC.
The workshop will answer the following questions:
- What is open data and why is it important to share?
- How do I choose a suitable repository for archiving?
- How do I ensure that my data is easy to find and accessible?
- How do I ensure that my data are also re-usable in the long term?
- How do I search for useful data sets and how do I quote them?
Learning Objectives
- Participants will know the reasons for sharing research data
- Participants will know how to choose a suitable repository for archiving
- Participants will know how to share their data in a findable and reusable way
- Participants will know how to find useful data sets and how to quote them
The workshop is intended for all-qualification-level researchers. No prior knowledge of open data is required.
The seminar will take place in English.
