The lecture is part of the BUA module “How science works - Current discussions on open science and research quality!”.
Guest lectures by nationally and internationally renowned researchers are part of the event series: In the winter semester 2024/25, there will be lectures by Prof. Dr. Stefanie Haustein (University of Ottawa), Dr. Katja Mayer (University of Vienna) and Prof. Dr. Jesper W Schneider (Aarhus University), which are open to interested guests and are usually hybrid in nature. The abstract of Prof. Schneider's lecture will follow shortly.
The BUA Module
The module consists of a seminar and an exercise (“How science works - What do I need to know and be able to do to become a scientist?”), both offered at the Institute for Library and Information Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and is open to all students of FU, HU, TU and Charité. The module will take place this winter semester on Mondays from 14:00 (c.t.) to 18:00.
Further information about the course and the possibility to register can be found here. The teaching module discusses among other topics scientific misconduct, research evaluation, scientific careers and scientific publishing. Students from different disciplines are invited to reflect on the requirements for quality and openness in their scientific fields in different interactive formats, to present and discuss them in a multidisciplinary group.
