Lecture by Dr. Armin Glatzmeier (Freie Universität Berlin) at the Colloquium of the Objective 3.
In the June session, Dr. Armin Glatzmeier, staff member of the unit for Competence Development in Scientific Work at the University Library of Freie Universität Berlin, will discuss the problem of predatory journals and provide practical advice on the strategies and options available to BUA scientists to protect themselves from dubious publication outlets.
This session will inaugurate the Colloquium's new "How to" series, which will be a regular part of the Colloquium program in the future. The aim of the series is to provide BUA members with practical advice on specific topics and, where appropriate, to familiarize them with relevant BUA offerings. The exchange on topics and practices in the everyday life of scientists is central to this. Against this background, we cordially invite you to discuss your questions on the respective topic with us. For the preparation of the speakers it would be helpful if you could send us your questions in advance of the meeting.
Do you have topics of your own that you would like to see in the "How to" series? Get in touch with us - we look forward to your suggestions!
The colloquium is aimed at scientists of all status groups and interested parties from all scientific and non-scientific fields. The session will be held in English.
The colloquium is organized within the framework of Objective 3: Advancing Research Quality and Value. It always takes place on the last Wednesday of the month from 14:00 to 15:30.
To participate in the colloquium, we ask for a short informal registration via email. The meeting link will then be sent to you one week before the meeting.
