Lecture by Dr. Robert Mies (Technische Universität Berlin) at the colloquium of the Objective 3.
Robert Mies, research associate at the Institute of Machine Tools and Factory Management at the Technische Universität Berlin, will present the Open.Make - Towards Open and FAIR Hardware project at the February 2023 Colloquium session.
The importance of Open Hardware to society was demonstrated during the first wave of COVID-19, when volunteers began supplying 3D-printed face shields based on Open Hardware designs to medical professionals. The talk will discuss the importance of open, FAIR hardware to science and for society as well as the development of standards and tools for documenting, evaluating, and publishing open hardware. The session will be held in English.
The colloquium is aimed at scientists of all status groups and interested parties from all scientific and non-scientific fields. The session will be held in German.
The colloquium is organized within the framework of Objective 3: Advancing Research Quality and Value. It always takes place on the last Wednesday of the month from 14:00 to 15:30.
To participate in the colloquium, we ask for a short informal registration via email. The meeting link will then be sent to you one week before the meeting.
