Superb Supervision – Mentoring your PhD Candidate towards Responsible Research
The event will take place in Berlin and is free of charge for participants. Up to 12 places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
As part of the activities of the priority area Advancing Research Quality and Value, the Berlin University Alliance is organizing the training program "Superb Supervision - Mentoring your PhD Candidate towards Responsible Research" f, which is aimed at supervisors of PhD candidates from all disciplines of the partner institutions of the Berlin University Alliance.
The aim of the course is to train supervisors of doctoral students to integrate the teaching of Responsible Research Practices into the supervision of their doctoral students. In this manner, supervisors can help create conditions at an early stage for these practices to be sustainably established in the research process and accordingly, contribute to ensuring the quality of research. The course covers different topics ranging from issues of research culture to social skills to the conveying of Responsible Research Practices and the critical examination of the role and self-image of the supervisor. The workshop employs a variety of facilitation techniques that require active participation by participants.
