KETAK - New paths in university medicine: career development and translation between autonomy and cooperation
Colloquium of the Objective 3 – Advancing Research Quality and Value
In the May session of the colloquium, Dr. Barbara Hendriks (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), Ramona Lange (Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin) and Sebastian Starystach (Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin) will present the project “KETAK - New Paths in University Medicine”, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and is being worked on jointly by Charité and the Robert K. Merton Center for Science Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
The project examines the effects of the introduction of the so-called “New Public Management” on university medicine in Germany. It analyses different forms of governance and management tools and their implications for the organization of university medicine, as well as the tension it creates between an economic and scientific logic, which can be traced against the background of the rationalization of research in the example of university medicine, and here in particular the Integrated Research and Treatment Centers (IFB) and the Clinician Scientist Programs (CSP).
The colloquium is addressed to all interested persons from any scientific or non-scientific field. The session will be held in German.
Interested parties can register for the online colloquium by mail: nele.albrecht@berlin-university-alliance.de.
The meeting link will be sent one week prior to the colloquium.
The colloquium is organized within the framework of Objective 3: Advancing Research Quality and Value. It always takes place on the last Wednesday of the month from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
