„Gender differences in research grant allocation – a mixed picture“
Online-Colloquium of the Objective 3: Advancing Research Quality and Value of the Berlin University Alliance
Objective 3 gladly announces that the next session of the colloquium, held on May 26 and organized in cooperation with the Cross-Cutting Theme Diversity and Gender Equality of the Berlin University Alliance, will feature Professor Peter van den Besselaar (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) with a talk on „Gender differences in research grant allocation – a mixed picture“.
Professor van den Besselaar whose research focuses in particular on the organization, governance and dynamics of science, will present results from his research project GRant AllocatioN Disparities from a gender perspective (GRANteD), funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. The project studies the causes and career effects of gender bias in grant allocation, and will develop strategies to counteract gender bias and mitigate its effects.
The Colloquium is open to researchers of all status groups and disciplines as well as interested parties from the non-academic areas.
