Companies signal their sustainability efforts to society in many ways. If the information from sustainability reports corresponded to reality, we should observe reduced CO2 emissions at country level. But can we? Can corporate reporting transparency have an impact on CO2 emissions at country level? In the winter semester, the participants of the tutorial wrote blog posts (link follows), which will now be equipped with empirical analyses in the summer semester. Further, the participants of the summer semester can contribute and implement their own thematic project ideas. Experts from the fields of natural science and statistics will accompany us on this way. We will work with R, but do not expect any previous knowledge of programming. Alternatively, students who have experience in programming can use other languages.
Participation in the summer semester is possible without prior participation in the winter semester. There will be an additional date probably on May 9 (room and time to follow), where we will run a workshop together with a climate scientist. The info session will take place online on April 13 from 18-19 p.m. Registration at: transparency4sustainability@posteo.de.
