The Berlin University Alliance wants to strengthen the connection between top-level research and teaching and to promote exchange and interactions between excellent scholars, scientists, and students.

This is the first time that teaching will be funded as part of an Excellence program. By including teaching and learning as a cross-cutting theme, the Berlin University Alliance is taking a clear stance in how it wants to approach this area in the future.

Student Research Opportunities Programx (StuROPx)

StuROPX is the Berlin University Alliance’s main program designed to bridge the gap between teaching and research. It opens up opportunities for students to participate in research projects being carried out in Berlin right now.

Courses Offered by the Berlin University Alliance

Students of the four BUA partners are given the opportunity to participate in courses jointly offered by the institutions as well as in other alliance activities. The BUA Office for Teaching and Learning at the individual partner institutions will be more than happy to answer any questions students and instructors may have about the alliance’s course formats.

E-Assessment Alliance (EA²)

Together the BUA partners are pursuing the goal of establishing uniform standards for high-quality teaching as well as shared technological and logistical resources. To this end, a regional assessment network is currently being set up that is coordinated centrally, but also incorporates decentralized organizational elements and logistics.
