Who owns Berlin? Queer-feminist perspectives on society, city and space
Tutors: Marieke Fischer and Rebecca Winther, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
Institutional affiliation: Prof. Dr. Beate Binder, Institut für Europäische Ethnologie, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
Funding Period: 22.04.2022 bis 22.07.2022
In this tutorial we will examine urban design and politics using a queer-feminist, intersectional and interdisciplinary approach. Under the central question “Which social power structures are recognizable in Berlin's urban space and what do emancipatory counter-movements look like in order to make urban processes (more) inclusive?” an understanding of discrimination structures, social inequalities and political struggles should be developed. In exchange with organizations and experts, areas of critical urban studies are to be developed, which act as a basis for working out your own research areas in groups.
