This X-Student Research Group introduces students to the fields of Regenerative Agriculture and Agroecology. Together, we will study the principles, practices, and discourses that these two disciplines advance in the aim of progressively restoring the fertility of agricultural landscapes through locally appropriate ecological farming methods. The objective of this course will be to provide a theoretical foundation of socio-ecological movements in the Global South, i.e Agroecology, and the North – i.e Regenerative agriculture, also including Carbon Farming, while exploring the different research approaches and methods that are utilized in these disciplines for mapping and visualizing spatial processes. In the aim of reinforcing an empirical application of these concepts, students will be able to choose from the different research methods used in these fields and apply them on a hands-on group research project.
