Open Science ranges from inclusive and transdisciplinary approaches to transparent and verifiable research results and accessible and reusable research products. To deepen and broaden its application, subject-specific and low-threshold solutions are needed for implementation in everyday research. The ambassadors programme was launched as a pilot project in 2024 to bridge this gap. As experts and enthusiasts, the ambassadors show researchers, students and decision-makers at their institution how they can benefit from and participate in open science.
The ambassadors will be active in their faculties, departments and clusters of excellence from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2025, contributing to subject-specific discussions on open science in a variety of formats. Through their commitment, the experts also contribute to implementing the open science mission statement at the BUA. Please feel free to contact the ambassadors at your faculty or department or, if there is not yet a direct point of contact in your area, those at your university.
The ambassadors have been officially confirmed by the deans' offices and governing bodies and their commitment has been recognised. The new BUA-wide network of ambassadors will be supported by the Center for Open and Responsible Research with event funding, training and other formats. The next call for applications is planned for March 2025. You are also welcome to contact us beforehand if you would also like to become involved as an ambassador at your institution.
The first cohort consists of 25 ambassadors from eight faculties and one cluster of excellence. This page provides information on how to contact the ambassadors at their respective institutions.
