In addition to the activities outlined in the action plan, we are involved in various CoARA formats designed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience.

The National Chapters serve to share knowledge and experience in the respective national contexts. The BUA and its partners are involved in the National Chapter Germany.

In the CoARA working groups, CoARA members work together on a voluntary basis to further develop the assessment processes for very specific topics. They also serve to exchange knowledge and experiences in implementing the reform. These “Communities of Practice” bring together international stakeholders and thus address issues from an international perspective.

The BUA and its partners are involved in the following working groups:

• BUA Collaboration Platform: CoARA Working Group: Reforming Academic Career Assessment (ACA);
• Charité: Supporting the alignment of research assessment systems with CoARA in biomedical disciplines through administrative reforms and governance (SAGA);
