CV Suzy Styles
Suzy J Styles is Assistant Professor and Provost's Chain in Psychology in the School of Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is Director of the Brain, Language and Intersensory Perception Lab (BLIP Lab), an Affiliate of the Centre for Research and Development on Learning (CRADLE@NTU), and coordinator of the Lifespan Research Centre based in the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She trained in Linguistics and Japanese at the Australian National University and Tohoku University, and Developmental Psycholinguistics at the University of Oxford. Her research interests include the development of language skills, sensory systems and brain development in complex multilingual environments. She is also active in developing Open Educational Resources, and Open Access tools for enhancing transparency in developmental science and neuroscience. She is a founding member of the ARTEM-IS Working Group at the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility.
Suzy leads interdisciplinary projects funded by the National Research Foundation in Singapore, where she investigates how diverse patterns of language exposure relate to sensory, neurological and linguistic development. In 2018 she received the Nanyang Award of Research Excellence.
