The Diversity & Gender Equality Network (DiGENet) of the Berlin University Alliance invites you to the panel "DiGENet Dialogues: transformative insights on Gender, Global Health, and Global South Perspectives"

On November 15 the DiGENet Dialogues offers an exciting, interdisciplinary space where key issues in gender, health equity, and perspectives from the Global South converge through the insights of our two 2024 Audre Lorde Visiting Professors hosted by Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. We’re very pleased to announce a dynamic exchange on urgent topics such as empowering refugee and migrant women through participatory methods (Prof. Jaya Dantas, Curtin University, Western Australia ) and gender and reproductive health equity in Latin America (Prof. Simone Diniz, Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil).

During this afternoon we blend our keynote presentations with a moderated dialogical conversation, allowing participants to explore how these global perspectives can transform academic approaches to diversity, health, and internationalization. Through this interdisciplinary format, moderated by global health expert Prof. Beate Kampmann (Charité), attendees will delve into how insights from the Global South enrich our understanding of gender and health and inspire corresponding research or institutional practices.

The event promises more than inspiring dialogue; participants will leave with fresh and intersectional perspectives and strengthened networks across these critical communities. We want to highlights not only the opportunity to engage with our esteemed Audre Lorde visiting professors but also underscore the event's role in building bridges across the university alliance's communities, aiming for lasting impact on global health and equity in academia.
