Im Rahmen des Projekts „Labor Know-How als Shared Resources“ wird ein Blockseminar an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin angeboten. Der Kurs richtet sich an Studierende (Bachelor und Master) der Verbundpartnerinnen der Berlin University Alliance (BUA). Das Forschungsprojekt wird im Rahmen des Schwerpunktbereichs Sharing Resources der BUA gefördert.

Das Blockseminar „Eye-tracking experiments in psycholinguistics“ von Prof. Dr. Pia Knoeferle ist auf zehn Plätze begrenzt, da der Kurs (mit Ausnahme des ersten Termins) im Labor stattfindet. Die Anmeldung über HU-Moodle ist erforderlich.

Inwieweit die Anrechnung von Leistungspunkten möglich ist, müssen die Studierenden selbst an ihren Instituten (Prüfungsausschüsse beziehungsweise Prüfungsbüros) anfragen. Das Blockseminar finden auf Englisch statt.

Das Projekt „Labor Know-How als Shared Resource“ hat sich das Ziel gesetzt, ein gemeinsames Management der Labore zu entwickeln, damit vorhandene Ressourcen bestmöglich in den Laboren eingesetzt werden können. Bei thematisch verwandten Forschungszielen ist aus Effizienzgründen die Bündelung der Ressourcen sinnvoll. Um Wissensverlust zum Beispiel durch Personalwechsel zu vermeiden, werden im Projekt Bestände erfasst und katalogisiert sowie Labortrainings angeboten. Das Projekt wird von Prof. Dr. Pia Knoeferle (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) und Prof. Dr. Fabian Klostermann (Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin) geleitet.

Course information:

This course deals with eye-tracking as a method with a focus on register studies. Students will be shown how to design an eye-tracking experiment; how to prepare or modify experiment materials; how to conduct a mini eye-tracking experiment; how to analyze the data descriptively, and how to present the results. At the end of the course students should have a grasp of important issues in experimental design, and know the key steps involved in conducting and descriptively analyzing data from eye-tracking studies. They will also have learnt how to summarize experimental results. The language of instruction is English. The number of participants is limited to 10 students. The course will in parts be conducted in the eye-tracking labs of the psycholinguistics groups, COVID-19 permitting.
