The Impact of Science on Foreign Policy in Times of Crisis
The panel discussion ”Intersections of Science and Diplomacy – The Impact of Science on Foreign Policy in Times of Crisis” will explore the role of science and scientists in foreign policy. Tackling global challenges like the climate change or global health needs international cooperation in research and science. However, (geo)political, ideological or economic watersheds show the fragility of such relations. The panel will debate on challenges and opportunities for science in the context of foreign policy.
In close cooperation with the DAAD, the Berlin University Alliance offers scientists and science managers as well as representatives from politics and society an opportunity to discuss science diplomacy and foreign science policy. The event is intended as an impulse-giving forum for information, exchange and networking. After the discussion, the Berlin University Alliance and the DAAD will host a reception. The event is open to Berlin scientists and science managers, stakeholders from politics, administration and society, and the general public.
