Peer Review, quo vadis? Imagining Peer Review for an Intersidciplinary Future
A Panel Discussion by Berlin Exchange, an interdisciplinary platform for scientific student publishing
Join us for a fruitful discussion with a panel of experienced researchers, involved in rethinking scientific publishing and peer review processes and coming from various disciplines:
Dr. Lara Urban (PhD) (statistical and conservation genomics, eLife), Prof. Dr. Ulrich Dirnagl (Neurology, QUEST), Prof. Dr. Michael Haefner (Communication Psychology), Dr. Michael Friedman (Mathematics and Philosophy)
Peer review, a practice for ensuring quality in science – each discipline has its own process, its own style with weaknesses and strengths. This evening offers perspectives from a variety of disciplines that collaborate in increasingly interdisciplinary research fields. What does peer review look like in other disciplines? Can peer review do justice to our increasingly interdependent scientific world?
About the organisers:
Berlin Exchange is a network of student journals, founded by Berlin Exchange Medicine, anwesenheitsnotiz and PolisReflects. The project is advised by the Berlin University Alliance (Obj. 2 ”Fostering Knowledge Exchange”). With our work, we strive for an interdisciplinary and innovative approach to open access publishing, engaging students in research early in their careers and providing them with the platform and resources they need to become critical participants in the field of scientific publishing. We strongly believe that students hold great potential to proactively shape future science with innovative ideas.
The event is addressed to: PhD candidates, researchers, students interested in research, all disciplines
