Online survey on the social consequences of the corona pandemic
Through the survey we would like to gain greater awareness of the social consequences as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the political measures taken. It is being conducted jointly by staff of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Technische Universität Berlin. The Berlin University Alliance is funding the research as part of the Special Call: Pandemic Research. Prof. Dr. Talja Blokland (Georg-Simmel Center for Metropolitan Studies [GSZ], Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) and Dr. Johanna Hoerning (Technische Universität Berlin) are leading the project
Before Covid-19, we were interested in how Berliners deal with everyday challenges: Where do they get their social support from? Do they find social support at specific places (e.g. clubs, pubs, bars or restaurants) in- or outside their neighborhoods? What are the various opportunities people have access to? And does it matter where they live in the city? However, the Covid-19 pandemic and current measures to contain the virus have all of a sudden disrupted the everyday life of countless people.
This survey is to help understand how Berliners are coping with this situation. Persons aged 18 and older who live in Berlin and the surrounding area can participate.
