Many doctoral graduates leave universities in search of more security, better working conditions, more direct opportunities to exert influence, a higher income or a better fit between their work and their own goals, values and talents. Not infrequently, however, they have little experience on the non-university lab our market. On the one hand, this makes it more difficult to assess one's own competencies, and on the other hand, it can cause reluctance on the part of potential employers. In the long term, however, the transition from the doctorate to a non-university career is managed very well. In the short term, this transition is a challenge for many postdocs: what possible fields of work are there? How can one's own competences be realistically assessed and appropriately communicated? This workshop provides the framework to develop an individual action plan for this transition.
