CV Tim Flink
Tim Flink is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in political science and sociology. Based at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, his work focuses on topics at the intersection of Science Policy Research, Social Studies of Science and International Relations.
He published the first comprehensive social history and policy analysis of the European Research Council (2016) and the first international comparative analysis on science diplomacy (2010). From 2018-2021 he was leading the conceptual work of the EU consortium “Using Science for/in Diplomacy for Addressing Global Challenges.”
As a policy expert, Tim has been sharing his knowledge with various institutions, such as the British and German Parliament, the European Commission’s DG RTD, the European Research Council, the European External Action Service, Federal Foreign Office of Germany, the Federal Ministry for Education and Research, the German Research Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Prior to his academic engagement, he worked at the EU Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations in Brussels.
