This event is part of the Colloquium Series of the Objective 3: Advancing Research Quality and Value. It is co-organized by the Objective 4: Promoting Talent, and the Action Research on Research Culture Project (ARRC) at the University of Cambridge, with participation of the German Research Foundation (DFG).
In the October session of the Colloquium, Dr. Lara Abel, Dr. Luisa Ciampi and Careers Consultant for Researchers Kate Murray from the Action Research on Research Culture Project (ARRC, University of Cambridge) will discuss the application of the Narrative CV format in academic recruitment processes. The speakers will present results from a mixed methods study, including a randomized controlled trial and semi-structured interviews, testing the effect of CV format (traditional CV vs narrative CV) on candidate rankings in live postdoctoral recruitments at the University of Cambridge. A hands-on session will include activities around discussing the merits and challenges of this new application document and reflecting on what you would include if you had to write one. Dr. Ines Medved from the German Research Foundation's Research Culture Team will share insights from the DFG's experience with the launch of their new CV template in March 2023. The session will be held in English.
The colloquium is aimed at researchers of all status groups and interested parties from all research and non-research related fields. It always takes place on the last Wednesday of the month from 14:00 to 15:30.
