The workshop provides an overview of transdisciplinary research, a mode of research that involves non-scientific practitioners from the outset of the research process. Participants will gain insights into the fundamental principles, methodologies, and practical tips for integrating non-academic stakeholders throughout the research cycle.
Using real-world examples the workshop explores the potential benefits and challenges of transdisciplinary research, showcases the range of participatory approaches, and assists participants in identifying suitable participation formats for their own research projects. Key aspects include how to identify and reach out to relevant practice partners, and how to align research goals with appropriate participation formats.
Participants will engage in input sessions, reflective discussions, and practical exercises, including identifying potential non-academic partners for their own specific research area. Furthermore, we will address strategic communication skills and impact strategies, guiding participants on how to build successful collaborations and enhance their research impact beyond academia. Literature references for further study will be provided.
