Implementation period for Oxford-based projects: 1 April 2025 – 31 March 2026

The Oxford Berlin Research Partnership aims to further mobility and scientific connection between Oxford and Berlin. The partnership and BR50 institutes will make available funds to promote the initiation for new or continuation of existing collaborations and research projects between researchers based in Oxford and Berlin. 6th UK-German Frontiers of Humanities Symposium on “Belonging” (07 – 09 May 2025 in Berlin, Germany)

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is accepting applications from junior researchers from various disciplines to participate in a symposium on the topic of ‘Belonging’ organised jointly with the British Academy. Participants can apply for seed funding from the British Academy or a follow-up programme from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to strengthen their research collaborations.

Horizon Europe Pump Priming Collaboration between UK and EU Partners 2025

Scheme opens date: 12 November 2024

Deadline date: 5 March 2025 17:00 GMT/18:00 CET

This call was launched by the British Academy with the support of the Royal Society, the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Royal Academy of Engineering to invite UK-led proposals for funds to “pump prime” joint bids under the Horizon Europe framework programme’s so-called Pillar 2 (Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness).

The call is open to proposals from all disciplines – engineering, natural sciences, medical and health sciences, humanities and social sciences.

Flexible Funds at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

Scheme opens date: 7 November 2024

Deadline date: 10 January 2025

Cooperation projects between Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the University of Oxford can now also apply for the Humboldt-Universität's Flexfund call for proposals.

Applications for projects to be realised in 2025 are eligible for funding with up to 5000 euros. The target groups are post-docs, professors and administrative staff. Applications should be submitted by tandems from both universities; the submission deadline is 10 January.

DFG/AHRC Funding Round 7 

Scheme opens date: 16 October 2024

Deadline date: 19 February 2025

Funding decision: November 2025

Funding period: 24-36 months

This funding opportunity allows UK-based arts and humanities researchers to conduct highly integrated projects with Germany-based partners, adding value to research objectives through international collaboration.
